Persistent Threat Level

Two days ago our country visited the 10th Anniversary of one of the most tragic events in the history of the United States of America.  But amazingly, that even brought the US closer together then ever before.  Homeland Security created an alert system, to help us become more aware of the ever present danger surrounding us as a result of that day.  The Director of National Security said that we face a Persistent Threat that at any given time can be acted upon, and we should always be alert to the ever present danger before us.  Like wise, the Bible tells us the same thing about our enemy in 1 Peter 5:8; "Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You're not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It's the same with Christians all over the world." So keep a firm grip on the faith.  We have to be on our guard at all times, when it is good, and when it is bad, when we are doing well and it seems like everything is going our way, and when we are at our lowest point, and feel like we are all alone.  As the word says, you are never alone, that is unless you isolate your self from those around you, God has given each of us our own Threat level alert system, the Holy Ghost, so just like the terrorist system, even when it is green, there is still an ever present enemy seeking to devour you, be alert, and vigilant with your faith because as the passage goes on to say, " The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does."
