In the past 30 days or so, the east coast has been hit with an earthquake, tropical storms, hurricanes, and flooding causing nearly 100,000 from Maryland to New York to leave their homes with the rising waters of the Susquehanna River. How would you feel if that was you? Just like in life, somethings that happen create circumstances beyond our control, but what is in our control is how we react or respond to it. The earthquake stopped, the storms and hurricanes passed through and eventually the flood water will recede, and what this tells us is instead of getting out of character, angry, or upset with the things we are not able to control, be thankful that you serve a living God, who has everything in control. You may not be able to alter the weather, or the circumstances of life, however God can give you the peace and strength to endure them. So know this, no matter what it is you are facing, or trying to move past, eventually the waters will recede and you will be above them again for the bible says, I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:12-13)
