It's back to school time....

So James III, begins his quest towards Duke University, yeah I said it, my son will be attending Duke, and he has everything in him to make it happen. He made the choice in elementary school.

Thank you Lord for allowing me to see this day, because when I started middle school, my dad passed away, my kids don't have that to contend with.

I know most of the parents reading this are very excited. Does not matter if your child is off to college, high school, middle school, or daycare for the first time.

We all want the very best for our children, and as parents we should. I have four of the most awesome children God has ever created, and yes I am biased, but even if I was not, it would still be true. Th

e Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent], and when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6 AMP)

I love the Amplified Bible translation because it reminds us not only to train them(our children) up in the way they should go, but it tells us to do so in such a way according to their individual gifts. Each child has a gift on the inside of them given by God to be used in fulfilling their purpose, and some times we lose sight of that part of his word, the individual gift.

Parents, I charge you today with beginning the school year off right. Focus not just on the basics of schooling, but learn and focus on your children's individual gifts. My children are naturally leaders, so I just have to remind them not to be followers, but what I charge them with is ever do important.

I tell my children everyday, set the example! Become the standard that everyone else shoots for.

Find something that motivates your children to exceed in the areas they are gifted in, and feed, water, and nurture it for their future, because I promise you, you will see the growth (Increase)

Please keep my family in prayer, my cousin Pamela Hildebrandt her daughter Takirra Smith and son Reginald Hildebrandt Jr. They just lost there dad, Reginald Hildebrandt Sr.

and that this is not the end for Reggie, it is only the beginning of his life, and although you maybe sad, to see his earthly body form go, know that his soul is now with the father and he is in no more pain, and will continue to watch out over you from above.

The other day I went to the gym with one of my nephews, and we were working out doing the routine I created. Now I have been going pretty regular at it and the results are showing, and 

he has just started to join me, but after the workout, I caught him posing in the mirror and admiring himself on " how he is getting bigger and stronger and growing"

But who am I to judge, but to me, he still looks the same, which I am sure some may say that I do as well even though I am down from a size 40 to 36 and 39lbs away from where I used to be, and no longer a XXL, just an L. But the point is, in the mirror to himself, he saw a difference, and there was nothing that anyone could tell him, to change that perception.

The Bible says in Matthew 6:22-23; "Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. If you pull the blinds on your windows, what a dark life you will have!"

In other words, we have a spiritual vision of the world around us, and a practical vision as well, and typically we let the practical vision lead, instead of the rightful place of the spiritual vision leading. Our Spiritual vision is what helps us to see what God has for us, wants for us, and needs us to do from His point of view for our life. But just like the natural eye sight can become cloudy and blurry so can our spiritual vision by self-serving desires, greed, envy, and just not flowing in the things of God.

Today, if your perception of reality needs a spiritual shift because it is not looking like the things God promised you in your life, then clean your glasses by focusing back in on serving God with your whole, entire heart, not just the bits and pieces you don't want to get hurt. Serving God is the best way to restore your spiritual vision, and a good eye will maintain its focus on the Lord.

Ever wonder why your problems are increasing and solutions decreasing, feeling like you out in left field with no place to turn? Well I got good gospel news for you as they say.

Did you ever consider that the reason why you are going through so much is because God trust you? So this morning the birthday girl ask could I bring her McDonalds for lunch, and of course, I agreed. So I get to McDonalds a out 10:45am cause lunch is at 11am, not knowing that I had to wait tell 11am to order lunch. Needless to say I was about 5 minutes late.

But when I got there she was smiling and carrying on with no worries in the world. What blessed my socks off was after I have Laila her

 lunch the teacher pulled me aside and said " she has been waiting so patiently and pleasantly for you to come. I asked her if she wanted a snack or something to hold her over until you get here and she responded, no thank you, my daddy says he is brining me McDonalds so he is on the way.

I say this all to say, how many times have you been waiting on the promises from your father and offered something other then what he already told you was good and blessed. As a child we can believe our father for anything, so why is it as adults we can not believe God the Father for anything especially what he already promised you.

Chaos, bow down!!!!!!!!!

Okay so I just came back from 7-Eleven getting something to drink. While over there, it was an older African America lady near the drinks stand with people around her talking negatively about President Obama. About how he is the Anti-Christ, and gay, and his wife is a gay amazon and the reason she knows this is because she has several friends and family members who are and she knows the familiar spirit. She states that she has attended several White House functions. She then 

turns to me and ask, "what do you think of all that?"

So I reply to her, if you do not agree with him and believe that he is such a terrible person then why do you attend multiple White House events for someone you obviously are not in support of? Secondly, I really do not care about all the rest of your conversation because I am not subject to him or anyone else for that matter because I am a child of God, and in him I know who I am, and nothing else matters.

Moral to the story, always know who you are through Christ Jesus, and when the chaos comes, just like it did in this case, you can rise up against it! My Pastor just taught on this Sunday, and here Tuesday was a shinning example.....

Well now, you say you tired of fighting, how can you be when you have Jesus Christ as your cut man, for the bible says by every stripe on his back you are healed, so the pain, hurt and heart ache you had from the previous fights are healed.

Furthermore, you have the greatest coach of all time, the Holy Spirit, for the bible says to lead and guide you, so I as you how can you lose?

Now that you know what you have in your corner, time to get your boxing on, and let's not forget, the bible says all things work together for the good of the Lord and those called according to his purpose, in other words the fight is fixed and you have been assured the victory....

Dear Lord God,

Thank you for waking me up today, the mere thought that you did not want another day to go buy without me being a part of it shows how much you love me. You could have cast me downs for things that I have done in my past and present, but yet you found a reason to forgive me and grant me mercy along with your grace.

Today I pray that you unravel the bandages of our emo

tions and instead replace them with the fulfilling presence of your loving kindness. Let us bare witness to your name in all that we seek to do today.

Make us a shining example for your glory because you choose us and we also choose to yield to you. Allow our presence to change the atmosphere when we enter the room causing the enemy to flee like the germ that he is.

As we obey your word today saturate us with the fragrance of your blessing so that other maybe attracted to us giving us the opportunity to share our testimony.

Let our lifestyle represent your kingdom, our choices your wisdom, and our thoughts towards one another, your love, as we move and have being in your word, In Jesus Name....

My Prayer

God you are all I need. Help me not to trust myself, but instead to put my all in trusting you and to rely on you as my source.

As I start this day, and everyday remind me first of where I came from and who I used to be by showing me how different I am from that person. I understand that I don't have it all together but continue to lead me and guide me in the direction you would have 

me to go.

When I am broken fix me change me and mold me or do what ever you have to do to get me to the place you would have me to be. Let me not hurt my family, my friends and anyone else you bring my way out of selfish thinking, independent justification but instead allow me to be used for you purpose and your good.

Allow me to stop becoming frustrated because I have realized that my frustration is because I have stopped relying on you and have instead chosen to rely on myself as if I can do it.

God, I know that life won't always go my way, but I trust in you. By the faith that you have placed in me, I received your grace and the mercy you have for me this day to face any situation that should come my way, In Jesus Name....

Exercising self-control and self-discipline, and establishing boundaries and borders in our life are some of the most important things we can do. A life that has no discipline is one that's filled with carelessness.

The Word of God establishes the necessary boundaries to keep us in God's safety zone. It tells us what we can do, and what we better not do, to be safe.

As Christians we can think it's kind of exciting to live life on the edge. We like the image of "Yeah! That's me! Living on the edge!" It's become a popular way of looking at life. But to be honest, God doesn't want us living on the edge, because if we're living on the edge, then we have no margin for error.

Highways have lines, one on each side and one in the center. These lines provide margins for our safety while we're driving. If we go over the line on one side, we'll go into the ditch. If we cross over the line in the middle, we could get killed. We like those lines because they help keep us safe.

It's like that in our personal lives, too. When we have boundaries, borders, and margins, we feel much better and experience God's peace.

The key is to go to God's Word, where He has laid out all the boundaries we need to live by. Let God direct your path every day.

Okay devil, the rubber necking is over, stop trying to look back into my life and see if the accidents, slip ups, and mistakes are causing havoc, cause I can assure you that my saving grace is still ever present.

cting my path in such a way to lead me to the conclusion to trust and believe in the word of God spoken over my life.

So as the MediVac comes to remove the damaged parts of my life from the scene of the accident, rest assure that this is still 12, and I am still resting under the divine hand of providence, in one of the most fruitful years of my life, because my God is able and has increased me again in my mind, my matters, and my money!

Planning for tomorrow is time well spent; worrying about tomorrow is time wasted. Sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference. Careful planning is thinking ahead about goals, steps, and schedules, and trusting in God's guidance. When done well, planning can help alleviate worry. Worriers, by contrast, are consumed by fear and find it difficult to trust God. They let their plans interfere with their relationship with God. Don't let worries about tomorrow affect your relationship with God today.

Keys to success...Prayer

Is it really okay to pray for success? Yes! If you aren't praying for success, what's the alternative? Are you going to pray for God to make you a failure? No. The bible says to take all things before God because you want to make sure you stay in his will and not your own.

Eliezer (Gen 24:12) clearly shows us that it is okay to ask God for success in accomplishing a goal as long as the motive is right. When your success helps people and honors God, praying for success does not become a selfish act.

Are you praying about your goals? Are you praying about your future? Are you praying about your dreams or are you just kind of keeping them to yourself?

Your prayers reveal a couple of things. First, they reveal how serious you are about your goals. If you don't pray about them, you really don't care about them that much. If you only pray about them once, they are not a desire, they are just a whim.

The other thing your prayers reveal is how much you are depending on God to reach your goals. If you never pray about your goals, never pray about your job, never pray about your finances, never pray about your marriage, you are not depending on God in any of those areas. The more you depend on God, the more you'll pray about that area to him.

Today, those areas that are not going well in your life, pray and ask God how does he want you to address them, and those area going well pray and ask God how to continue giving him the glory in them.

Nyah and James Courtney

Today is one of the greatest days in my life. Today Nyah and James III graduate from elementary school to middle school. When I tell you these two are such a blessing to me, it does not even convey the total sum of what they mean to me, not that the others are any less but this is the twins day!

Why Do Earthworms Come To Surface When It Rains?

Most people have seen earthworms on the ground after a strong rain. Worms even appear on sidewalks and parking lots when they are wet from a heavy rain. Some of these folks even wonder why earthworms come out of the ground after a storm.

One of the myths about this earthworm activity is that the worms are escapingfrom underground because they would drown. But most scientists believe that this is not the case. Research has shown that the opposite may be the case. Worms don’t breath through lungs as other animals do.

The oxygen they need to survive enters through the worm’s skin. In fact, the earthworm’s outer skin must be moist, so the worm doesn’t suffer from wet ground. (They won’t survive in just water though.) Consequently, they leave the ground after a heavy rain or storm because they can move so easily through the wet earth. It may be true that worms leave the ground when the oxygen level reaches a certain point, but they can survive in very moist earth.

Worms also seem to know that they won’t dry out when they are laying on the surface during or after a rain. They won’t survive in the direct sun, so that’s why they don’t appear on hot, dry days. This is why they will not often be seen during the day. Some studies have speculated that worms also use this moist atmosphere to move around and find mates.

Close observation has shown that there are thousands of earthworms in each acre of ground. If the earth is sufficiently moist it may host up to 50,000 worms in one acre. Having this number of worms is a great benefit to the earth itself, toplants as well as to farmers and gardeners. Earthworms contribute to the health of the soil by bringing organic material in and leaving it as they move through the soil.

Worms eat and digest leaves and other vegetable material, leaving behind nutrients that are beneficial to natural plantsand cultivated plants. These elements include phosphorus, calcium, nitrogen and so on. Earthworms are generally considered to be one of the major contributors to fertile soil. In soil that is sufficiently moist and provides a home for thousands of worms, the ground may have added tons of rich material.

Aside from the nutrients and amount of soil contributed by earthworms, these small and important animals also help aerate the soil. As they create burrows, the roots of trees and other plants are able to push through more easily. The soil is just naturally looser where earthworms are present.

One of the questions that scientists ask about earthworms and their habit of coming to the surface during and after rains is this: How do they know? Worms have no eyes but they are very sensitive to the feel of soil and to the air when they come to the surface. They have bristles on their outer skin that help them feel and move in the ground.
